Alicia Keys is getting Glamour-rific with 2 of Hollywood’s A-Listers. Check out Mrs. Beatz’s October 2011 Glamour mag cover with Jennifer Aniston and Demi Moore. Plus, what she and the ladies had to say about the short films series concerning breast cancer, that they all directed for Lifetime.
Check it after the cut…

The ladies make white tees and jeans look subtly sexy in the upcoming issue of GLAMOUR magazine. The Hollywood mega-stars, Alicia, Demi, and Jen, directed a series of short films for Lifetime entitled Five, about women and breast cancer that show how breast cancer affects women’s lives, families and friendships. They open up about the crucial women’s health crusade that brought them together. And they’re even dishing on their husbands, boyfriends, and kiddies, too.
Alicia spoke on what her short film is about…and baby Egypt:
On choosing to direct her Five film Lili…
“After I read the scripts, I felt like this was something important, and I wanted to be a part of it. I chose Lili because she’s close to my age and I understood the family dynamic. I had an immediate idea of what I could bring to it.”
On reality music shows like American Idol…
“Initially, I felt like it was showing people that to be an artist you’re just supposed to get on TV. But as time passed, and the industry changed, I started thinking of it as an outlet for people who otherwise wouldn’t have any opportunity to be heard. Now I think it’s a good thing. When you’re talented, you’re talented.”On the breakthrough moment she had while in Egypt (it inspired her son’s name too!)…
“It was a time of transition. There were certain people [I was working with] who weren’t right. I had friends who weren’t right anymore. I was tired and I had overworked myself and burnt myself out. So I went to Egypt by myself. When I saw what was built there, it made me understand how powerful we are, that we can create anything. And I felt like I needed to create things that were timeless too.”
In their NYC photoshoot seen above, Jennifer Aniston is wearing a white Splendid tank, Hudson jeans and jewelry by Fred Leighton. Demi Moore sports a white 180 by Jean Yu tank, Levi’s jeans, Jack Vartanian necklace and Cartier ring. And Alicia Keys joins in with a white T by Alexander Wang shirt, J Brand jeans, Ippolita ivory resin bangle (30 percent of proceeds from the sale of each bangle will benefit breast cancer awareness) and De Beers white gold and diamond bracelets.
The issue hits newsstands nationwide September 6, 2011 and digitally (iPad and Barnes & Noble Nook Color) on August 30, 2011. Check out the full interview over at GLAMOUR.

Last night, the 2011 MTV VMAs was full of surprises and exciting moments. And we’ve got the pics and video you didn’t see from backstage and on the red carpet of the show. TheYBF.com hit the red carpet as well for The House of Hype’s afterparty. See pics and on-the-scene vid inside….

Here’s another angle of Nicki Minaj’s outfit from the press room after her win. And we still don’t understand this ‘fit. Looks like she had a ball at FAO Schwartz though while rocking a velcro bodysuit. Are those stuffed animal slippers?

And Tyler The Creator walked away with “Best New Artist” and got even more silly backstage with his Odd Future homies.

He and the rest of Odd Future celebrated the win. It’s just so many people in that damn group….
Earlier in the evening, TheYBF.com hit the VMAs black carpet…….
JoJo talked to us about her remake of Drake’s “Marvin’s Room” that was all a-buzz on Twitter and her new album which will be in stores soon. Flo Rida talked about representing Miami and working with Rick Ross and Pitbull and how happy he was to be at the awards. And his date was Miss Poland (aka the Miss Universe pageant)!
Kat Deluna revealed that she wore very little makeup with her Jose Juran dress so she could show off her freckles while Deena from the “Jersey Shore” told us that she was excited to see Lil’ Wayne. We also ran into Snooki and the Cali Swag District. Meanwhile, Rick Ross gave his predictions for “Best New Artist.” Check it above.
Then TheYBF.com covered the House Of Hype’s after party….
Former Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton talked about her upcoming musical project and said that she predicted Beyonce’s announcement!

Raising Sand, from Led Zeppelin vet and bluegrass superstar, wins five Grammys on Sunday night.

“I’m bewildered,” Robert Plant said onstage as he accepted the Grammy Album of the Year award with Alison Krauss on Sunday night. “In the old days we would have called this selling out, but it’s a good way to spend a Sunday.”
He was probably one of the few who were surprised, because Raising Sand, which won five trophies at Sunday night’s show, is in many ways the perfect Grammy album. It features two respected veterans, a critically lauded producer, some sandpaper-and-velvet vocals and a baker’s dozen of time-tested standards.
You’re probably familiar with Robert Plant from his Led Zeppelin days, and you might be aware of producer T-Bone Burnett’s work on the “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” soundtrack (it won the Grammy for Album of the Year in 2002). And if you don’t know who Alison Krauss is, she possesses a haunting set of pipes and is one of the meanest fiddle players in the world. Oh, and she’s won 21 Grammys, more than any other female artist and the seventh-most in history.
Really, she’s the key to Sand’s success, and not just because of her voice (or her fiddle playing). She and Plant first met in 2004, at a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame tribute to legendary bluesman Leadbelly, and the former Zeppelin man was amazed by her knowledge of American Roots music — so much so that they began kicking around the idea of recording an album together. Three years later, Sand was released.
And while Plant possesses the more famous voice, the album’s finest moments radiate from Krauss. Whether she’s getting bluesy on Little Milton’s “Let Your Loss Be Your Lesson” or entwining with Plant’s husky voice on songs like “Please Read the Letter” and Roly Salley’s winsome “Killing the Blues,” she more than carries her end of the bargain.
And perhaps that’s also due to producer Burnett, who handpicked the 13 songs the duo cover on Sand. His arrangements are sparse — giving the two voices ample room to breathe — yet dense, warm and crackling at the same time. It’s a testament to his work that he’s often given just as much billing as Plant and Krauss on the project … and it’s certainly justified.
To date, Sand has sold more than 1 million copies, heaped tons of acclaim and actually earned a Grammy last year — “Gone Gone Gone (Done Moved On)” took home the award for Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals.
One expert was surprised not by the album’s success, but by the fact that it’s actually quite a good album.
“At first, the album seemed like a vanity project. … Two names, clearly a one-off record, didn’t have to be any good, you know?” New York Times music critic Jon Caramanica said. “Led Zeppelin fans would buy it because of Robert Plant, Alison Krauss would get a check. But it actually turned out to be a really thoughtful, really good record. So when you combine all that with the fact that the Grammys love to lionize one of their own, I could really see it taking home some awards.”

I’ve been watching a lot of HGTV since coming to LA. My favorite shows are House Hunters and House Hunters International. There’s also another show I like to watch called For Rent, but only because it makes me angry.
When it comes to apartments/homes, I think living in New York for the past eleven years has made me bitter because there was this whiny broad on For Rent a few nights ago who was looking at a huge place—A HUGE PLACE—and was like, “There’s no place for a dining room table…”
B*TCH, YOU’RE LUCKY TO GET A KITCHEN IN NEW YORK.
I hated her.
Now there’s some stupid lady on House Hunters who wants a townhouse with a fireplace that she can turn on with a light switch. IT HAS TO BE A LIGHT SWITCH because she doesn’t want to bend down and flip a switch on the floor.
WHO DO THESE PEOPLE THINK THEY ARE?
Anyway, I know my LA update is WAY overdue (and truth be told I wrote a long one last week but for some reason it didn’t save so I lost the whole thing and I was so angry that I just said, “Ah, f*ck it,” and closed the computer instead of rewriting) but to give you a quick update, I AM SO HAPPY HERE. I MEAN, I’M REALLY, REALLY HAPPY. And I think living here and watching HGTV—both of these things combined—has made me realize that New York was just beating me down. I mean, the fireplace lady—yes, she’s an idiot. But there’s nothing wrong with wanting a dining room table. Why did I get so mad at that lady?
Since being here, at least once a day I ask myself why I have lived in New York for so long. (It’s like I had Stockholm Syndrome or something.) CALIFORNIA IS AWESOME. It’s like the promised land. It’s sunny all the time and there are birds and flowers everywhere. I have space out here. I have a sofa on the patio out here. I HAVE A SOFA OUTSIDE. I haven’t seen one rat since I’ve been here. But hummingbirds? THEY ZIP BY MY HEAD EVERY DAY. I am so happy.
I’m supposed to go back to New York in November, but truth be told, I’m not sure I will.
